We have lots of different events happening at The Tap during April
Every Tuesday we have Quiz Night – starting at 8pm with the picture quiz then the questions start at 8.30pm. Teams from 1 to 6 people with the winning team getting 6 beer tokens which are valid for 1 week. There is also a Jackpot where there is a chance of winning up to £100.
Wednesday 12th April is ‘Have a Crafty One’ starting at 7.30pm. You are invited to bring whatever craft you are currently working on and join like minded people to craft over a glass of something. The Green Oak Morris Men practice in The Upper Room on a Wednesday night and new members are always welcome.
Thursday 6th April is Singing Together in the Bar with guest singer Jerry Simon who is a singer and prizewinning songwriter.
Thursday 13th April is ‘Well Spoken’ with a showcase from Longbarrow Press, a Sheffield-based independent poetry publisher. Introduced by editor Brian Lewis, poets Matthew Clegg, Karl Hurst and Fay Musselwhite have devised a selection of poems with an accent on contemporary England, from its urban centres to its fraying edges. The event is free and will be in the Upper Room, with the Showcase taking up the early part of the evening, and the usual open mic after the interval. The evening will coincide with the first night of our Easter Beer Festival, so there will also be an extensive selection of quality real ales and ciders for your delight downstairs.
Thursday 20th April is ‘Stammtisch’ which is an evening of German Conversation. Come along and join the group speaking German or again you can just listen.
Thursday 27th April is ‘Book Club’. The two books are One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and Prat a Manger by Davi Nobbs. Read either or both of them then join in the discussion and mark the read out of 10.
Every Friday is ‘Cheeky Drinkers Club’. Start your weekend off well with a cheeky pint with friends.
Saturday 15th April is ‘Uke Can Do It’ which is our Ukulele Group. Bring your Uke and join in the fun playing and singing some popular songs. Starting at around 1.30pm until 5pmish. This is also during our Easter Beer Festival.
Saturday 29th April is our Open Folk Session. This is a session of singing and playing around the room. 1.30pm start. Come and listen to the music or join in if you can sing or play.
Sunday 9th April is Music in The Upper Room and is a Musical Showcase with Frank Carline, Dave Angel and Cook, Rick and Angie and headline band The Beatroutes feat Adrian Evans. This is a ticketed event and further information is available on the Facebook Page. Doors are 4.30pm with music starting at 5pm and usually finishing around 7.30pm. THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT.
