We have lots of different events happening at The Tap throughout October.
We are holding a Cider Festival from 24th October until 29th October for CAMRA Cider Month. There will be 6 changing ciders of all different varieties so if you enjoy your traditional still ciders this is the place to be. (Blind Cider tasting Wednesday 25th – see details below)
Every Tuesday is Quiz night – starting at 8pm with the picture quiz then the questions start at 8.30pm. Teams from 1 to 6 people with the winning team getting 6 beer tokens which are valid for 1 week. There is also a Jackpot where there is a chance of winning up to £100.
Wednesday 18th October is Gin Decent Proposal with 4 different gins to sample with various tonics for only £20 per person. Tickets available from the bar.
On Wednesday 25th October – as part of our Cider Festival Week there will be a Blind Cider Tasting Evening with 6 ciders to sample. You will need to try to work out where the cider is from, what style it is and guess the ABV. Tickets are £12 and includes some grub.
Thursday 5th October is Singing Together with Vikki Fielden, Come along and join in the singing.
Thursday 12th October is ‘Well Spoken’. You are invited to bring a piece of work to read or you can read something by your favourite author/poet. You can also just sit and listen while enjoying a pint. The theme is Autumn but this is not compulsory.
Thursday 19th October is ‘Stammtisch’ which is an evening of German Conversation. Come along and join the group speaking German or again you can just listen.
Thursday 26th October is Book Club. The books for October are ‘A Quiet Life’ by Natasha Walter and ‘Water for Elephants’ by Sara Grue. A Quiet Life is a brand new book only released in October. Read either or both of these books and attend the book club to discuss and mark out of 10.
Every Friday is ‘Cheeky Drinkers Club’. Start your weekend off well with a cheeky pint with friends.
Saturday 21st October is ‘Uke Can Do It’ which is our Ukulele Group. Bring your Uke and join in the fun playing and singing some popular songs. Starting at around 1.30pm until 5pm-ish.
The Open Folk Session in October is on Saturday 28th starting around 1pm and finishing at 5pm-ish. It is a session of singing and playing around the room. Come and listen to the music or join in if you can sing or play.
Sunday 8th October we have Music in The Upper Room with Sem Seiffert – all the way Cologne. His music is a combination of folk and rock with a bit of blues, jazz and pop. Tickets for this event are £10 adv £12 on the door. They are available from the bar and from We Got Tickets.
Every Sunday we are open from 12 Noon until 5pm and we have a traditional Sunday buffet with Pork Pie, Cheese, Bread and Dripping and pickled onions. This is complementary for our Sunday customers.
