We have lots of different events happening at The Tap throughout September the most important of which is our Autumn Beer Festival.
Starting on Thursday 28th September at 5pm – Friday and Saturday 12noon until 11pm and Sunday 1st October 12noon until 8pm. There will be 18 cask beers, 10 keg beers, 6 rotating still ciders, bratties and pork pies.
Every Tuesday is Quiz night – starting at 8pm with the picture quiz then the questions start at 8.30pm. Teams from 1 to 6 people with the winning team getting 6 beer tokens which are valid for 1 week. There is also a Jackpot where there is a chance of winning up to £100.
Wednesday 13th September is ‘Girl Talk’ starting around 7.30pm. You are invited to join us for an evening of chatter with your friends. The special this month is a bowl of chocs if you buy a bottle of wine to share. The Green Oak Morris Men practice in The Upper Room on a Wednesday night and new members are always welcome.
Thursday 14th is the September ‘Well Spoken’ and we have a guest speaker in Ian Parks who will be launching his new book of poetry Citizens. You are invited to bring a piece of work to read or you can read something by your favourite author/poet. You can also just sit and listen while enjoying a pint.
Thursday 21st September is ‘Stammtisch’ which is an evening of German Conversation. Come along and join the group speaking German or again you can just listen.
Thursday 28th September is Book Club which will be held in The Upper Room due to the Beer Festival starting on this night, The books for September are Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro and Guernica by Dave Boling. Read either or both of these books and attend the book club to discuss and mark out of 10.
Every Friday is ‘Cheeky Drinkers Club’. Start your weekend off well with a cheeky pint with friends.
Saturday 16th September is ‘Uke Can Do It’ which is our Ukulele Group. Bring your Uke and join in the fun playing and singing some popular songs. Starting at around 1.30pm until 5pm-ish.
The Open Folk Session in September is on Saturday 30th starting around 1pm and finishing at 5pm-ish. It is a session of singing and playing around the room. Come and listen to the music or join in if you can sing or play.
On a Sunday we are open from 12 Noon until 5pm and we have a traditional Sunday buffet with Pork Pie, Cheese, Bread and Dripping and pickled onions. This is complementary for our Sunday customers.
