What’s On

We have lots of different events happening at The Tap throughout December.

The Month starts with a Charity Book Fair with over 500 books. These have all been donated to us to use for a worthy cause and what better than FireFly.  The books will be available to peruse in The Upper Room during opening hours on Fri 1st, Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd December.  Please feel free to pop in and have a look.  It is a ‘pay as you feel’ event and there will be a charity box in the bar.

Every Tuesday is Quiz night – starting at 8pm with the picture quiz then the questions start at 8.30pm. Teams from 1 to 6 people with the winning team getting 6 beer tokens which are valid for 1 week. There is also a Jackpot where there is a chance of winning up to £100.

Wednesday 13th is the Green Oak Mummers’ Play performed by the Green Oak Morris Men. Mummers’ Plays are folk plays performed by troupes of amateur actors, traditionally all male, known as mummers or guisers. It refers particularly to a play in which a number of characters are called on stage, two of whom engage in a combat, the loser being revived by a Doctor character.   You are invited to join us for this years exciting performance.

On Wednesday 20th December we will be having ‘A Rum Un’ which will involve the consuming of Rum.  The details for this event are still work in progress and there will be limited tickets available so – first come – first served.

Thursday 14th December is ‘Well Spoken’.  You are invited to bring a piece of work to read or you can read something by your favourite author/poet.  You can also just sit and listen while enjoying a pint.  There will be a Seasonal Theme – but this is not compulsory.

Thursday 21st December is ‘Stammtisch’ which is an evening of German Conversation. Come along and join the group speaking German or again you can just listen.

For the December book club we invite you to bring along a book of your own wrapped in Christmas paper to be lent to another member of the club. Please ensure your name is inside so the book can be easily returned. Everyone who attends the December Book Club will receive a swapped book to read for the January Club.

Every Friday is ‘Cheeky Drinkers Club’. Start your weekend off well with a cheeky pint with friends.
