We have lots of different events happening at The Tap throughout July.

Every Tuesday is Quiz night – starting at 8pm with the picture quiz then the questions start at 8.30pm. Teams from 1 to 6 people with the winning team getting 6 beer tokens which are valid for 1 week. There is also a Jackpot where there is a chance of winning up to £100.

Wednesday 12th July is ‘Have a Crafty One’ starting at 7.30pm.   You are invited to bring whatever craft you are currently working on and join like minded people to craft over a glass of something.  The Green Oak Morris Men practice in The Upper Room on a Wednesday night and new members are always welcome.

Thursday 6th July is Singing Together in the bar with guest singer Bryony Griffith.
Piers Cawley “One of the roots of Singing Together was a great singing session in the bar of the Cumberland Arms presided over by the Witches of Elswick. And that’s where I first heard Bryony Griffith.  She’s brill and I can promise you a great night out at the Brewery Tap.”

Thursday 13th is the July ‘Well Spoken’ and features the nationally renowned poet Steve Ely who is launching his fourth book of poems Incendium Amoris  This will be followed by our usual open mic where you are invited to bring a piece of work to read or you can read something by your favourite author/poet.  The topic for this session (which is not compulsory) is ‘Summer’.

Thursday 20th July is ‘Stammtisch’ which is an evening of German Conversation. Come along and join the group speaking German or again you can just listen.

Thursday 27th July is Book Club and the books for July are A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian by Marina Lewycka and Public Library by Ali Smith. Read either or both of these books and attend the book club to discuss and mark out of 10.

Every Friday is ‘Cheeky Drinkers Club’. Start your weekend off well with a cheeky pint with friends.

Saturday 15th July is ‘Uke Can Do It’ which is our Ukulele Group. Bring your Uke and join in the fun playing and singing some popular songs.  Starting at around 1.30pm until 5pmish.

Saturday 15th July is also a Ukulele Workshop with Phil Doleman which will take place in the Upper Room starting at 2.30pm for approx 1 hour and tickets are £10 – available from the bar and from We Got Tickets.

The Open Folk Session in July is on Saturday 29th starting around 1pm and finishing at 5pmish. It is a session of singing and playing around the room.  Come and listen to the music or join in if you can sing or play.

Sunday 9th July the Music in the Upper Room is George Borowski and Mora.  George Borowski’s song writing winds it’s way through pop, rock, country and blue suede tunes in true rock n’ roll style. His socially aware masterpieces have haunting lyrics and he sings those lump in the throat power ballads.  His music has a message to all and you will feel he has been singing just to you.  This performance will also feature Mora – George’s daughter – who will captivate you with her amazing voice.
Tickets are available from the bar and from We Got Tickets.  Doors are 4.30pm with music starting at 5pm and finishing around 7.30pm

Sunday 16th July is our Charity Summer Fair in the Upper Room starting at 12noon until 4pm. There will be a variety of stalls including knitted toys, jewellery, books and DVDs.  Proceeds from the afternoon will go to the FireFly Charity which is a local Doncaster Cancer Support Charity.
